One held for raping minor

Police on Tuesday arrested one person for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl in avillage in Umsning, Ri Bhoi. Police said that one Dralwel Khymdeit (26) rapedthe  at Sonidan village under Umsningoutpost on Monday following which a complaint was lodged leading to his arrest.

It may be mentionedthat this is not the first instance of rape of a mentally unstable girl. Lastmonth, an 11-year-old mentally unstable girl was allegedly raped in West GaroHills.

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in southeastDelhi’s Givindpuri area, police said on Sunday. The matter came to light whenthe girl was taken for health check up to a doctor who diagnosed her to be sixmonths pregnant, said a senior police officer. Later, the victim revealed thatshe was raped by a local fish-seller who had threatened to kill her if she toldanyone about it. (PTI)

Molestation: NEHUSU protest today
